Sarah Projansky, PhD
Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Academic Affairs in the College of Fine Arts Professor in the Gender Studies Department, University of Utah
Sarah’s books include Spectacular Girls: Media Fascination & Celebrity Culture (2014), and Watching Rape: Film & Television in Postfeminist Culture (2001). Her most recent essay, “From Pro-Equality to Anti-Sexual Violence: The Feminist Logics of Title IX in Policy and Media,” is published in the anthology Emergent Feminisms & the Challenge to Post-feminist Media Culture (ed. M. Ryan & J. Keller).
Erin Jemison, MPA
Director of Public Policy, YWCA Utah
Within her role at YWCA Utah, Erin advocates on behalf of Utah women and girls in the areas of economic stability, racial justice and civil rights, and health and safety. Erin relocated to Utah after leading the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) as their Executive Director, where she also served as Chairperson of the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board. Erin’s educational focus was on gender equity, and she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from William Smith College and a Master’s in Public Administration from Montana State University.
Nubia Peña, JD
Advocacy Prevention Training Specialist, Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault
Nubia received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in May 2016 and has actively sought to bring awareness to issues of violence and systemic oppression through her personal and professional endeavors. Nubia was named as one of the top 25 law students in the country by National Jurist magazine for her commitment to social justice and empowering marginalized communities.
