In 2016, The Utah Women’s Giving Circle asks, “How can we open our eyes to our implicit bias?”
In raising this question, we aim to raise the awareness and the funds to empower Utah’s women and girls.
This is how the founders, Peta Liston and Amy Albo, describe the exhibit:
On most days we view an image and immediately draw a conclusion about its meaning. We quickly move on with our lives, secure in our understanding of what we saw. What I Thought I Saw is a traveling exhibit that challenges its audience to stop for a moment and question such certainty. As the stories unravel the complicated and unexpected lives behind the images, the reader is invited to deconstruct the layers of misconceptions, biases and stereotypes behind that initial glance.
Join us for an evening that will open your eyes and inspire you to examine your own implicit biases.
Reminder: Our Spring and Fall educational events are free for members and include a members-only social with the presenters. Guests are encouraged to attend the main event and the ticket price can be applied toward membership anytime in the calendar year.
